We’re major advocates for fall getaways.

Summer may be the peak season to go camping, however, the cooler days and beautiful foilage make for the best conditions for glamping.  If you’re still unsure of the definition of glamping (glamour + camping) it combines the rustic appeal of the great outdoors mixed in with the creature comforts of home.

Some people may love everything and anything that has to do with being outdoors, but there’s a large group of us that prefer to sleep in a comfortable bed at night.  South Eastern Ontario is filled with gorgeous places full of wonder where you can go glamping. We have everything from treehouses to micro cabins. This fall, try a glamping experience in the 1000 Islands with 1000 Islands Glamping.

1000 Islands Glamping is changing locations to Graham Lake in Pleasure Park RV Resort,

If you’re going to plan yourself a glamping trip, it’s important to choose a destination that you’ll enjoy exploring while having the right amenities to fit your lifestyle. 1000 Islands Glamping is the perfect getaway to have with friends, family or with your partner because no matter what you’re in for a luxurious time.

The trailers at 1000 Islands Glamping come with the following: A private deck with a patio table to relax and have your morning coffee at, a campfire ring, on-site bathroom, 1 Queen-sized bed, bunk beds, a futon, fridge, coffee maker, luxurious robes and so much more!

Close by to our glampsite were tons of activities including ziplining, national parks, and the quaint town of Gananoque. During the day, we enjoyed a hike on trails found around Landon Bay. At the Lookout Trail, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the St Lawrence River and Landon Bay. There’s also ample space to take a rest and spread out for a fall picnic lunch. My suggestion is to pack a basket with fresh apples from one of the local orchards and add a bottle of wine such as Merlot to make it extra special!

At night, we layered up on clothing to stay warm as we headed outside. No camping or glamping trip is ever completed without a warm fire and s’mores. Try out the following special smores recipe that was fitting to our glamping lifestyle. After laying out our graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate (I like to use Reece’s peanut butter cups) we skewered up some bananas! This adds a whole new flavour profile with the taste of caramelized bananas – trust me, it’s delicious! After filling up on smores we sat back in our comfy Muskoka chairs and basked in the glowing embers that lite up the night.

We woke up to a frosty morning in a warm and cozy bed that would be perfect to stay all day in. With 1000 Islands Glamping, you can surround yourself in nature and have the option to unplug anytime you would like. Our morning was spent out on the deck with a good book and fuzzy socks to stay cozy as we filled the Glamper with the smell of crockpot goodness. The amber and gold foliage makes for a perfect cycling tour along the 1000 Islands Parkway. At night we repeated our same routine as the night before, then headed out in the morning.

When you’re glamping, you don’t need to know how to pitch a tent or identify wild animal tracks (two things I’m not mastered in) but you can still have a memorable weekend with a little extra comfort thrown in. So this fall, dress in your best plaid shirt, grab some friends, and give glamping a try!
