You’re in for a real scare.

The spookiest time of the year is here! Halloween isn’t Halloween unless you get a good scare. Bundle up in a few extra layers to help protect you from the spooky ghouls that you may encounter. From creepy corn mazes to spooky tunnels to a closed down penitentiary, we’ve got a list to keep you busy!

1. Fort Fright October 5th – November 2nd

Known widely for its frightening walk through Fort Henry, Fort Fright adds to the creepiest with a display of ghouls. Prepare to be horrified as you join the haunted walk, coffin rides and creepy carnival!

2. Kingston Penitentiary October 1st – November 3rd

While not your typical spooky event to attend, what makes Kingston Penitentiary so terrifying is the dark history of its buildings and corridors. Learn about what has made this one of Kingston’s most interesting attractions as your tour guide shares stories of true events that have taken place over the last century behind those prison walls.

3. Haunted Walk Of Kingston October & November at 8:00 PM 

If you didn’t already know, Kingston is known to carry paranormal properties as it is said that it absorbs energy. So, it would be no surprise that Kingston has many stories of hauntings that are just waiting to be told. Take a guided tour by one of the storytellers and journey on foot around downtown to get a first-hand experience!

4. Kingston Ghost Mystery Trolly Tour October 1st – October 27th

If walking on foot around the city is not your thing, hop on the Ghost and Mystery Trolly for a 90-minute tour of over 200 years of paranormal history. Get a chance to see the secret haunted spots that not even locals are aware of!

5. Improbable Escapes

You may need an entire bag of trick-or-treat candy to recover from these two escape rooms. That’s right, two chances to escape! Coroner’s Report will have you shaking in your boots as you explore this ‘ abandoned hospital.’ In Ghost Town, you’re a paranormal investigator looking to put some unhappy ghost to rest.

6. Tunnel of Terror October 25th – October 29th

Not for the faint of heart, take a tour down the Tunnel of Terror in Brockville’s historic railway tunnel. If the lights and ghouls roaming about aren’t enough to frighten you, then maybe the long history of this railway tunnel will get your skin crawling!

7. Halloween Hullaballoo October 26th

Join your friends Saturday, October 26th at the Brockville Legion for spooky-themed snacks, drinks and decor, while listening to the music of Ryan James, Ohm’s Law and Abandon Eden.

8. Pumpkinferno October 1st – October 27th

You will have your breath taken away, in a less frightening way at Pumpkinferno! You can walk along the outdoor art exhibit to gaze upon thousands of handcrafted pumpkins as they light the pathway and glow brightly in the dark fall backdrop.

9. A Night at the Museum Haunted Tour October 26th

Many say that it isn’t just location that can be haunted, items can carry the remnants of spirits long since passed. Join your friends at Glengarry Pioneer Museum, for a night at the museum with a scary twist – ghosts. Learn the history of this century old building, as well as the items it holds. Keep an eye on the shadows for ghostly apparitions!

10. Acres of Terror October 4th – October 30th

History repeats itself this year at the 27th annual Acres of Terror. Known for its terrifying tricks and ghoulish games, you can take a spooky wagon ride around the 60-acre property. If you dare, enter the house of terror for some extra scares by creepily costumed actors. Then, make your way to the fog maze to try and find a way out before a creature finds you. Lastly, take a stroll through the spooky village for some interactive “shopping” experiences.

11. Ghost Walk For Charity – October 17 – 19, 23 – 25, 31st 

It’s Canada’s largest indoor haunted house! This event features live actors ready to terrify walkers at every twist and turn. Kid-friendly is available from 5 pm – 6 pm and if you’re brave enough, enter from 6 pm – 9 pm.

12. Pump-Gan-Fest September 28th

Perfect for the whole family, the Pump-Gan-Fest brings together spooky games, talented entertainment, delicious food and everyone’s fall favourite – giant pumpkins and a day of Halloween themed fun!

17. The Bath Haunted Tour Every Friday Until The End Of October

Free up a Friday in the next month to venture over to the Bath Haunted Tour. Your tour guide, the story-telling genius Dave Fisher will share mysterious and spooky stories about ghosts and spirits that roam the village. Follow him on a 75-minute tour on the mysterious grounds of Bath Ontario.

18. Wynn Farms Corn Maze Friday & Saturday Night Until October 26th

A great way to enjoy harvest season is by visiting a corn maze. You and the family will have lots of fun getting lost in this pirate-themed maze.  Discover maps, ships, treasure and learn how to talk like a pirate! There’s also a special Haunted HalloWYNN experience where you travel through the fog and encounter 10 monsters along the way.

19. Wolfe Island Corn Maze Now Until Mid-November

Sometimes keeping it simple is the most spooky. Join your adventurous pals for a trip through Wolfe Island’s Corn Maze! Try and find your way out of this mind-bending maze and then treat yourself to some delicious snacks and visits with adorable farm animals. Be dark so be sure to bring a flashlight!

20. Spirits at the Mill October 26th – October 27th

Stay tuned for the 4th annual Spirits at the Mill tour this October from 7 pm to 9 pm in Delta! Tour the Old Stone Mill and learn about the spirits that remain on the ground while you are awe-inspired by the incredible decorations.
