You asked for more – we answered. Check out this list of 16 more breweries and distilleries you can find in South Eastern Ontario. These new brew tastings will be the thirst-quenchers of the summer. If you need a refresher, take a look at Volume 1.
1. Skeleton Park Brewery
Dedicated to crafting old-world ales and celebrating life, Skeleton Park Brewery in Kingston is doing something different. They’re sifting through archives that date as far back as the mid-1700s to create a Heritage Series of the most beloved brews produced by small breweries operating in Kingston before prohibition. You can literally drink a bit of history here – and we’re digging it!
2. Daft Brewing
This unique, West-coast style tap room is unlike anywhere else to drink in town. With bright colours, graffiti walls, and a fun atmosphere, the brews at Daft aren’t the only thing with loads of character. An ever-changing array of beer entices anyone interested in dialing their taste buds up a notch… or 10.
3. Fine Balance Brewing Company
Life and beer require balance to be at their best. That’s the idea at the heart of Fine Balance Brewing in Kingston. Striking a balance between new world modern beers and old world classics, this creative brewery is known for producing new recipes and special one-off brews – and serving them alongside their tried and true favs in the open and bright taproom. One of the coolest features at Fine Balance is that the taproom opens up into the brewery so visitors can get an intimate look at the process. Be sure to ask at the bar on weekends for a brewery tour if you’re curious about what’s behind that perfect pour.
4. Midtown Brewing Company
A great place to bring the entire family for a nice bonding experience. For beer lovers, try their MBC Kolsch Ale, and drink in a nice light fruity taste with a surprisingly spicy finish. For the foodies, you won’t go wrong pairing your beer with their classic burger and famous fries.
5. Lake On The Mountain Brewing Co.
Located just down the road from the beautiful Lake on the Mountain Resort, where tourists come from all over Canada to enjoy the secluded beauty of nature as well as to celebrate love and family. Twelve years ago, Lake on the Mountain began a small brewery on site that was so well received it has now moved down the road and grown into a manufacturing site, bottle shop, beer garden and taproom.
6. Barley Days Brewery
One of the first craft breweries to bless the grounds of Prince Edward County, Barley Days continues to impress and grow with its flavours every year. Extremely friendly staff welcome you to spend some time in the taproom tasting the variety of beers available on tap, brewed right on site. Be sure to check out their sister company Clafeld Cidery!
7. Prince Eddy’s Brewing Company
Considering itself a playground for adults, Prince Eddy’s hits the mark with their two story tasting room, overlooking the brewhouse. Step outside with your C.R.E.A.M. ale onto the newly added patio, challenge a friend to a game of beach volleyball and then sit back to enjoy some live music at the end of the night.
8. Strange Brew Studio
Established as a producer of local favourite Horntrip Juniper Pale Ale, which was available at local bars and breweries in the county, Strange Brewing is a force to be reckoned with. Now open to the public, stop by to their tasting room for a chat with the owner Dave and grab a few growlers to go on your way home.
9. Gillingham Brewing Company
Fresh to Prince Edward County is the Gillingham Brewing Company, which offers up a Pale Ale 25 which is a hybrid of American and British Ales. As well as a Hopped Wheat that promises for fruity twists including passion fruit and banana.
10. Matron Fine Beer
This modern brewery produces county terroir with elegant farmhouse ale, aromatic IPAs and lagers. With two beers on tap; the aromatic and well-balanced Janky IPA, as well as the Yeasayer Lagerbier which is hailed as a no-nonsense lager with a light hop accent and balanced malt character. There’s a lot to love in each glass!
11. Slake Brewing
If you’re looking for a memorable view of The County while sipping on lagers, ales and pilsners – shake it over to Slake. It’s built into a limestone hill, so it offers visitors a stunning panoramic view from the taproom and patio. Pair that lookout view with clean, easy-drinking brews and you’ve got a perfect afternoon ahead.
12. Meyers Creek Brewing
Meyers Creek is busy building its own production facility in Belleville – but that doesn’t stop it from releasing a new brew! Back Roads Vanilla Porter is the first beer by Meyers Creek Brewing Company. It’s local through and through – being brewed just down the road at Forked River Brewing Company, it contains hops grown in Prince Edward County and it’s made with Ontario barley malted right in the Quinte region. Sip Back Roads and dream about visiting the brewery soon!
13. Arbrū
They don’t just talk the talk, they walk the walk. Arbru is Ontario’s first off-grid brewery, brewing beer using solar energy and being eco-conscious by committing to planting one tree for every litre of beer sold. Not only can you feel good sipping on Arbru, but your taste buds will be singing for more! Arbru is featured at BUSL near Mallorytown in the 1000 Islands.
14. Westport Brewing Company
Known nationally for its delicious beer and amazing views, Westport Brewing Company is easily one of the best date night spots in the area. Located in the heart of Westport, entirely surrounded by the lakeside of the Rideau, you can taste their locally-sourced, small-batch beer and pair it with a lovely meal such as their scrumptious Montreal smoked meat sandwich.

Walk around and see how it’s done! This microbrewery not only offers tours and frosty beers but the friendly brewmasters are always on-site to answer any questions.
