It’s beginning to look a lot like the holiday market season! Once again, we find ourselves quickly approaching the most festive time of year. The trees are being raised in every town square, colourful lights are hung from the lamp-posts with care – and that familiar music suddenly starts to fill the air.

As if this time of year isn’t cozy enough, South Eastern Ontario has Holiday Markets galore to help cross some items off your wish list! These markets are beginning to open their doors for the 2021 season, and they look more magical than ever. With their twinkling lights and vendors selling extraordinary gifts and one-of-a-kind finds, these markets will have your heart growing two sizes.

Kingston

1. Fat Goose Craft Fair

Shake a tail feather down to the Fat Goose Craft Fair this November – your tote bag will be fat with creativity after a visit to this a plucky show that attracts thousands every year. It’s set for the Renaissance Event Venue and Next Church on Sunday, Nov. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guaranteed joyful vibes here as birds of a feather flock together!

2.Kingston Holiday Market

It’s an online market this year and it’s ready to fa la la! The Kingston Holiday Market opens Nov. 18 and runs until Dec. 12 online. With more than 90 local, independent artists and artisans creating everything from sea glass to pottery and from candles to metal work, this market is a tradition in the community.

3.Artfest Kingston Christmas Art & Craft Show

Thousands of pieces. 125 artists. One weekend. Get artsy at St. Lawrence College from Dec. 10 to 12 as ArtFest Kingston returns. Featuring a diverse array of art and craft works, there’s always something art ArtFest to feast your eyes on. Your gifts will be the talk of the dinner table – in a good way!

4. Glocca Morra Studios Holiday Market Series

Find that perfect gift for a special someone who makes your life sparkle. Glocca Morra Studios Holiday Market on Hwy. 15 just outside of Kingston is full of surprises! Guest artisans rotate each week and bring with them eclectic and inspiring creations. Catch this market every Friday evening from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting Nov. 19 through to Dec. 17.

5. Garden Party Christmas Market and Shop Crawl

Oh, something shiny and new! This inaugural market is set for Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Lawrence Street and Main Street in Winchester, hosted by The Planted Arrow Flowers and Gifts. Listen to Christmas music while mingling with Santa and Mrs. Claus. With more than 40 quality vendors, find your holiday magic in downtown Winchester! It’s being paired with the Winchester Shop Crawl so be sure to get your passport stamped for some prizes.

6. Moonlight Madness

Shop late and find deals by the light of the moon! Join local retailers in Winchester on Dec. 9 as stores will be open later for holiday shopping. Keep an eye out for special sales! Featuring baking, health and wellness, clothing flowers, gifts and more. Be sure to shop local and get your name in for giveaways, too.

7. Gananoque Holiday Market

Get ready to ho ho ho! Head down to 167 King St. for the Gananoque Holiday Market featuring jewelry, pottery, electrocuted wood, crocheted winter accessories, home décor and more. Running from Nov. 13 to Dec. 19, every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. discover 15 vendors – different every week. All the holiday feels!

Brockville

8. Brockville Christmas Market

More than 30 vendors on site from Friday, Nov, 26 to Sunday, Nov. 28 at Stingers in Brockville to boost your holiday spirit! Stroll, visit, explore, indulge in food to go, sip a warm drink and enjoy live entertainment. This is a free event, but a reserved ticket is required.

9. Brockville Farmer’s Market Christmas Markets at the Aquatarium

 Mark your calendar for the first three Saturdays of December 4, 11 and 18! Find everything on your Christmas list, grown and crafted by local artisans, vendors and farmers. There’s something for everyone – including yourself! Watch for more info in the weeks ahead.

10. ANDARA Gallery Presents: Holiday Photo in the Barn

Make the season bright while doing some good for the community! Picture this: a century-old barn decked out for the holidays with a festive portrait seating area featuring a stunning 15-foot Christmas tree from a local farm. The perfect backdrop, right?! From Nov. 12 to Dec. 23, ANDARA Gallery at 54 Wilson Road near Bloomfield is hosting photo sessions for a donation to the PEC Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Back The Build campaign. Gallery staff will compose and take a festive photo on your device or camera in exchange for a donation. This is holiday spirit in action, folks!

11.Ode to Joy Art Show & Sale

ANDARA Gallery presents its second Ode to Joy event featuring paintings and photography. Set for Nov. 12 to Dec. 23, 2021, the award-winning gallery located at 54 Wilson Road near Bloomfield offers contemporary impressionist paintings and a collection of small works created by encaustic painter, Andrew Csafordi. This rural Shop and Hop experience is all about shopping at your own pace this year. With safety top of mind, the Lyndhurst, Seeley’s Bay, and Outlet Shop and Hop are on from Nov. 1 to 15, giving people the chance to support their favourite local merchants, win prizes – but not feel rushed. The Shop and Hop is taking place in-store, online, and curbside. These small towns harbor big incentives – two grand prize draws valued at $500 each are up for grabs!

 Relaxing Christmas shopping with a lake view! Over two days, 15 makers with pottery, greenery, signs, work turning, silversmithing, baking and even holistic healing are ready to combine for an epic market experience. Overlooking Charleston Lake, the event is indoor/outdoor. Get your cozy vibe on by sipping Cold Creek Coffee while you browse and warm up by the bonfire. The Lakeside Christmas Market at 782 Cedar Park Ln, Athens is running from Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 pm. and Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Set for Saturday, Nov. 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 75 Campus Dr. in North Grenville, this is your chance to kick off the Christmas season with an outdoor event filled with joy, local and celebration.

17. Jack Frost Fairs

Shop your fav Kemptville Farmers Market vendors and new faces during a one-of-a-kind event on Sunday, Nov. 28, and Sunday, Dec. 5 on the lot at 200 Sanders St. in Old Town, Kemptville! Explore handicrafts, home baking, and seasonal décor at these outdoor Christmas markets. Tempt your taste buds with ethnic cuisine, hot drinks, and soup, as well as yummy goodies! Listen for live entertainment. Admission is by donation for the food bank. Proceeds from the vendor table sales even went to House of Lazarus and Big Sky Ranch – so you can feel good about shopping here knowing you helped keep the Christmas magic going within the community.

This one is a favourite for locals and visitors alike! Getting into the Christmas spirit is easy at this incredible outdoor market. More than 60 local artisans flock to the fairgrounds in Merrickville selling all original wares. Admission is free! Don’t miss this unique event taking place Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – you’ll be ready to break out the eggnog after.
