We’ll show you where to find the best light display, holiday markets, and all-around festive fun. So pack your weekender and hit the road.

Kingston

This is your open invitation to visit the Limestone City to see, taste, and experience the holiday season! We’ve got holiday happenings, makers markets, foodie-inspired farm to table and thespian theatre. Make the most out of a 2-night stay in South Eastern Ontarios hottest location.

Friday

One night just isn’t enough to take in all that Kingston has to offer. Check your bags into downtown Kingston’s luxury boutique hotel. the Frontenac Club, or unpack in a mid-town suite at Green Acres Inn before you head for dinner.

It’s been a long week. Time to unwind, destress and let someone else do the cooking (and the washing up). Head to the Blu Martini Bar & Grill and enjoy dinner and live music on weekends (reservations recommended). Vegetarian and gluten-free options. Or enjoy a drink and appy at the cozy and inviting bar at Casa Domenica, a stylish spot to while away the evening and chat with the bartender. Highly suggest trying the Bresaola with mascarpone and crispy fried capers or asparagus risotto Arancini. Oh heck, try them both, it’s Christmas!

Did you know that visitkingston.ca has sixteen pages of restaurants? For a good reason. Kingston’s culinary scene is pretty impressive. Culinary creators rely on the talented and tireless farmers in neighbouring Frontenac County as they bring “field to table” with locally sourced ingredients.

Saturday

Downtown Kingston is bustling over the holiday season with decorations that enhance its historical charm and modern vibe. Take to the streets and carriageways to explore the dozens of unique shops that make up the limestone city’s downtown core. Look for unique and used books at Berry & Peterson Booksellers. Check out Card’s Bakery for neat kitchen stuff and the best banana cake for miles. Feeling a little artsy? Visit Martello on Brock and take in a concert or play at The Grand Theatre.

Do something a little different:

Lace-up your skates and take a spin on the outdoor rink at Springer Market Square then satisfy your sweet tooth with a Beavertail across the lane. Our favourite is the Avalanche with Skor and caramel. Delish! Check out the operating dates.

Add a little music to your weekend and take the 20 minute ferry from Kingston’s downtown dock to nearby Wolfe Island and sit in on a live music session at The Hotel. Weekends come alive Friday and Saturday nights on this little island with a big music vibe. You can hang with the locals, enjoy dinner and catch the musical talent. Ferry’s run every hour on the hour from Kingston and every hour on the half hour from the Island. Check ferry schedule
